Former world champion Luis Collazo (37-7, 20 KOs) is back in the ring on August 4th, when he face Bryant Perella in FOX televised fight from the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.

The main event of that card will feature a battle a scrap between former welterweight champions, Andre Berto and Devon Alexander.

Collazo's name has been mentioned in recent months to face both men - but for one reason or another those bouts never happened.

The contest with Perella will be the first for Collazo since his brutal knockout of Sammy Vasquez in February 2017.

Collazo is training hard for his upcoming bout, but he would love to face the winner of the main event.

"I would absolutely fight either one of them. Andre Berto and Devon Alexander are fighters I would have liked to have already fought. I was offered Alexander before Vasquez, but Devon didn’t take the fight," Collazo told Premier Boxing Champions.

"Before Perrella, their names were mentioned and those fights didn’t come to fruition, but they’re fights I hope to make happen before I hang up the gloves."

Collazo lost a very close decision to Berto in January 2009. Some observers felt that Collazo had done enough to win that fight.

He always wanted a rematch to set the record straight.

"Berto was the undefeated champion, and I feel like I truly handed him his first loss. I wish I could have had a rematch with Berto before now. I’ve always been that type of guy, and that’s not gonna change until I hang up the gloves," Collazo said.

And while most of the boxers at welterweight are avoiding the idea of possibility of facing IBF world champion Errol Spence - Collazo would embrace the opportunity.

"The last two times I fought southpaws, I was supposed to get stopped or to lose and I ended up knocking out Ortiz and Vasquez. So I’ve been performing better and getting stronger against lefties," Collazo said.

"So if that fight with Spence presents itself, I would absolutely be ready to take it because I’m a fighter who loves competition."
