Dangerous Puerto Rican junior middleweight/middleweight contender Jorge "Destroyer" Melendez will arrive this Thursday, September 3 in Junin, Buenos Aires, Argentina, to join the training team of Argentinean junior welterweight Lucas Matthysse - to help 'The Machine' prepare for his fight on October 3 against Ukrainian Viktor Postol.
Matthysse and Postol will battle for the junior welterweight world title of the World Boxing Council (WBC) at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, United States.
Melendez, 29, has a record of 29-5-1, with 27 knockouts, will join Matthysse's current team with unbeaten Brazilian Yamaguchi Falcao (London Olympic bronze medal winner in 2012) and Patrick Teixeira.
The Puerto Rican, who has similar physical dimensions to Postol, is known to the Argentine boxing fans for his losing effort on June 7, 2014 against Javier Maciel of Buenos Aires, who won on points at Madison Square Garden in New York as part of the undercard to Sergio Martinez vs. Miguel Cotto.
