York Hall, London - Leon Williams (9-3, 4KOs) shocked Rob Norton (32-5-2, 19KOs) to win the British cruiserweight title by way of twelve round split decision The scores were 115-114 for Norton and 116-113 and 116-114 for Williams. It was a close fight where Norton controlled most of the first six rounds. Williams came back in the second half, but even several of the rounds in the second half belonged to Norton. The champion appeared to have done more than enough to win the fight, but the judges, in a shocker, went with the challenger. 

One of three Walsh brothers - Ryan (13-0, 5 KOs) - got his first belt, a vacant English (not British) super bantamweight title, after a one-sided win over light-hitting Liam Richards (10-2, no KOs). Scores were 100-90 (twice) and 99-91.

Irish Dean Byrne (15-0, 6 KOs), a well-travelled former Australian light welterweight champion and America-based prospect, made his English debut not particularly memorable and struggled a bit to outpoint Mauritius-born journeyman Michael Frontin (3-10-2) over eight teddious rounds. Frontin suferred a cut in the fifth but continued to fight until the end. Referee Ian John-Lewis raised Byrne's hand with 78-74 win.
