Middleweight Lanardo Tyner (25-4-2, 15 KOs) earned a unanimous decision over former junior welterweight champion Vivian Harris (29-7-1, 19 KOs) on Friday night. With the victory, Tyner won the USBO title in the main event of Chicago Fight Night 2 presented by Chicago Fight Clubs Promotion LLC at The Club Chicago in Burbank, IL.

Both boxers started off slowly in the first round as Harris circled the ring and Tyner pursued him while throwing his jab. Unfortunately for 5’6 Tyner, it would be his taller 5’11 opponent who was able to utilize his long jab to keep Tyner away during the next couple of rounds.

This continued going into the middle rounds as Harris controlled the pace and landed a hard right hand. Tyner threw punches to the body of Harris, but a counter attack of hard uppercuts and combinations slowed him down.

During the sixth round, Harris proceeded to land straight rights and lefts. Tyner’s corner men, who included Floyd Mayweather Sr., pleaded with Tyner to get busy and throw his jab. Suddenly, Tyner exploded with strong hooks to the body of Harris. Harris momentarily fought him off, but Tyner jumped in again with more crisp punches as the round came to an end.

The battle continued into the later rounds as Tyner landed hard punches to Harris’ body, but was also taking punches during the process. In the end, the judges scored the contest 97-93, 97-93, and 96-94.

In the co-main event, welterweight Albert Mensah (24-3-1, 10 KOs) earned a majority decision over Andre Gorges (11-2, 6 KOs) to grab the IBF International title. Mensah showed his skills and patience while battering Gorges throughout the bout with occasional hooks and uppercuts. Unwilling to submit, Gorges showed great determination as he was constantly moving forward and forcing the action. The final scores were read as 117-111, 104-104, and 117-111.

Also, junior welterweight Adrian Granados (8-1-1, 5 KOs) defeated Antton Slaughter (3-1-1, 1 KO) by a six-round unanimous decision. Granados had a rough start in the opening round as his punches were failing to connect, and Slaughter was landing his very accurately. Then, Slaughter appeared to tire quickly and Granados imposed his will, punishing him with hooks to the body and head through each of the remaining rounds. The three judges scored it 58-56.

In other results, junior welterweight Antonio Canas (5-0, 3 KOs) defeated Larry Ventus (4-1, 3 KOs) by a four-round unanimous decision. The contest was competitive as both boxers landed hard punches, but Ventus was pinned against the ropes frequently. Afterward, Ventus was deducted two points for head-butting Canas following the sound of the final bell. The scores were 39-35, 39-35, and 38-36.

Middleweight Donatas Bondoravas (13-3-1, 3 KOs) won by a six-round unanimous decision over Marlon Thomas (36-8-1, 21 KOs). The scores were 58-56, 58-56, and 59-55.

Super bantamweight Sergio Montes de Oca (4-1, 1 KO) earned a first-round TKO over Raymond Torres (0-3). Time of stoppage came at 34 seconds.
