According to BBC Sport, Paul McCloskey is being linked with a possible rematch with Amir Khan following contacts between the respective fighters' managements. McCloskey's manager Francie McNicholl states that he was contacted by "Khan's people" earlier this week. Khan won a technical decision over McCloskey last year after a clash of heads ended the fight early. McCloskey was cut above his eye and the fight was stopped. All three judges saw it 60-54 for Khan.

"Both parties are serious. The dates being mentioned are 8 or 15 of December in Manchester," said McNicholl.  "If we are looking at either of the December dates, we need to get the fight finalized in the next two weeks because Paul will need a (training) camp of at least eight weeks. I would expect that something will be decided in the next week."

After losing to Khan (26-3, 18KOs), McCloskey decisioned Breidis Prescott but then suffered a shocking TKO loss to DeMarcuis Corley in May. However, McCloskey (24-2, 12KOs) returned last weekend and defeated highly ranked Manuel Perez. Khan has dropped his last two, a split decision to Lamont Peterson last December and a fourth round TKO to Danny Garcia in July.
