Former champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is still steaming that Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) once again passed him up for a potential showdown.

Khan has been passed over on two occasions in 2014 in favor of Marcos Maidana, who Khan decisioned several years ago. Khan was sure that he would land Mayweather on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. His hopes were recently dashed away when Mayweather announced that he was fighting Andre Berto instead.

Berto, a huge underdog, is Khan's friend and training partner. The two fighters train side by side in the Bay Area with coach Virgil Hunter.

Khan says the entire scenario has proved to him that Mayweather is legitimately scared.

"I remember the time he picked Maidana over me even though I won the votes on the internet and he still didn’t pick me," Khan said to Sporting News. "At the moment, from everything I see and everything fight fans should realize is that Floyd is a liar. First when he said I’m going to let the fans pick who I fight, he didn’t what he said he was going to do because the fight fans voted and they all voted Amir Khan. And he still picked Maidana, someone who I’ve already beaten, put down and gave him a beating and beat him in a better style that Floyd Mayweather beat him.

"Floyd is running scared because of the size of me, the hand speed I have, the power and the speed. He just doesn’t want any of me. He doesn’t want anything to do with me. He just wants to try and avoid every little thing. I think he just wants to get that contract over and have the unbeaten record until he retires."
