Former "regular" WBA junior welterweight champion Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-1, 9 KOs) is not being affected by any of the details in Saturday's fight against former three division orld champion Adrien Broner, which takes place in Broner's backyard of the U.S. Bank Arena, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Khabib is looking for some payback after feeling that he got a raw deal his last time out in the United States, when he traveled from Russia to face Jessie Vargas on the Pacquiao-Bradley II undercard last April at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Vargas, like Broner, was the hometown fighter and got what many felt was a questionable decision win. Khabib lost his WBA title in the process. But now he gets a chance to win it back as the vacant WBA "regular" title will be at stake.

The belt became vacant when Vargas moved up in weight to challenge Bradley for his WBO welterweight title earlier this year.

Despite what he felt was a foul experience in a similar situation, Khabib is very confident of winning on Saturday night when he steps in the ring in the Showtime televised main event.

“I expect Broner to try to play his game, but we will play our game," Khabib said. "The experience I gained after losing the title in my last fight [against Jesse Vargas] is that I really understand the opportunity that I am being given going into this fight."

“I am not worried about fighting in Broner’s hometown.  I have fought many fighters in their own cities and it doesn’t bother me. On Saturday night, I will show the fans a great fight and come out with the victory.”
