Former European middleweight champion Kerry Hope has told BoxingScene that a fight with Chris Eubank Jnr will not happen in July on the undercard of the much anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora in Manchester despite comments made by the unbeaten Brighton man following his out classing of Robert Swierzbinski at the Olympia in Liverpool on Saturday night.

“Kerry Hope is next but he has no hope!” Eubank Jnr told BoxNation’s John Rawling.

BoxingScene contacted Hope, who is due to relocate to Brisbane, Australia, from his home in the fighting town of Merthyr Tydfil in the next few months and he revealed that he knew nothing of a bout between himself and the brash 24-year-old who moved to 15-0 (10) with his hammering of Swierzbinski.

“It is all nonsense.  I didn’t watch the boxing last night and the first I heard about a fight with Eubank was via text messages and Twitter.  I have no idea how he is mentioning this fight because I know nothing about it at all.”

“I’ve not had the best of decisions in my recent fights” continued the Welshman. 

“And the last one (a points defeat to Frankie Borg for the Welsh Area title) topped it off for me and I have become uninterested in boxing here” said Hope, whose career hit its peak when he out pointed the heavily favoured Grzegorz Proksa at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield back in 2012 to claim the European strap.

“I wish I had the same outlook on the game here” reflected the 32-year-old

“Because I would surely upset his (Eubank Jnr) bandwagon, hopefully Australia is a new chapter.”
