World-ranked contender Kenny Demecillo of  the Philippines will take on former world champion Lee Haskins in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight eliminator on October 21 in Manila after MP Promotions secured the rights to the fight by submitting the winning bid held at the IBF offices in Springfield, New Jersey.

Demecillo (14-4-2, 8 KO’s) of Cebu City and Haskins (35-4, 14 KO’s) from Bristol, England will battle for the top spot in the IBF world rankings at 118 pounds.

Haskins won the IBF bantamweight championship by outpointing Ivan Morales the younger brother of Erik “El Terrible” Morales back in May 14, 2016 in Cardiff and lost the belt on June 10, 2017 to Ryan Burnett in Belfast.

Demecillo, who is promoted  by Omega products from Cebu, has won eight of his last 10 fights, with a draw and a loss on the other two. Emmanuel Rodriguez of Puerto Rico is the current IBF bantamweight world champion. Haskins is rated #4 and Demecillo #5 by the IBF at 118-pounds.

On the same card in Manila, Randy Petalcorin (29-2-1, 22 KO’s) of General Santos City in the Philippines will take on Felix Alvarado (33-2, 29 KO’s) of  Managua, Nicaragua for the vacant IBF 108-pound world championship.
