Two former world champions will collide, with Julio "Pollito" Ceja of Mexico taking on Panamanian Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno on May 27th, in a WBC super bantamweight semi-final eliminator.

The winner of the contest will get a step closer to landing  a world title opportunity against champion Rey "King" Vargas.

The event will take place at the Amador Convention Center in the capital of Panama and will be broadcast to all of Mexico by Televisa Deportes.

Ceja is ranked No. 5 in the WBC rankings, and Moreno occupies the third position in the rankings.

Moreno was the WBA bantamweight world champion for four years and at one time he was considered to be one of the best boxers in the sport. Moreno has been out of the ring since getting stopped last September in his rematch with Shinsuke Yamanaka.

Ceja held the WBC super bantamweight title and lost it last year to Hugo Ruiz in their rematch. Ceja has a record of 30 wins, 27 of them by knockout in exchange for two defeats. He will attempt to overcome a very experienced boxer with a record of 30-5-1, 12 KO's.

The winner of this fight will have to face the winner of the other WBC eliminator, between Hugo Ruíz and Ronny Ríos. The overall winner of these two eliminators will receive the opportunity to get in the ring with Vargas - who capture the vacant title last year.

Meanwhile, there will be another WBC world title eliminator on the card, with Saul "Baby" Juárez (23-5-1, 12 KOs) of Mexico taking on Panamanian Leroy "Sensational" Estrada (15-2, 6 KOs). The winner will get the ticket to fight against undefeated world champion Wangheng Menayothin of Thailand, who defeated Juarez last year by decision.
