Hard Rock Hotel, Nuevo Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - Julio Ceja (25-1, 23 KOs) recovered from the first loss of his pro career with a tenth round stoppage of veteran  Juan José “Goofy” Montes (23-4-2, 14 KOs). Ceja picks up the vacant WBC silver bantamweight. Back in May, Ceja tried to capture the vacant IBF bantamweight crown and lost a twelve round majority decision to Jamie McDonell in a very closee fight in the UK.

In the other featured bout of the evening, former champion Mariana “La Barbie” Juarez (38-7-3, 16 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Buakaew Onesongchaigym (6-2-1) of Thailand. Juarez retains her WBC International super flyweight championship, and also wins her second bout in a row since getting stopped by Japan's Riyo Togo in the first round back in April. She avenged the loss with a ten roun decision win in their July rematch.
