Juanma López and the former Olympian Jantony Ortiz gave a motivational speech to the students of the school Julia de Burgos in Carolina, Puerto Rico. 

Before attentive students from kindergarten through eighth grade, two-time world champion Juan Manuel 'Juanma' López of Caguas and former London 2012 Olympian, Jantony Ortiz (7-0; 4 Kos) of Humacao, led the dynamic and motivational message of 'Use Gloves Not Guns' campaign.

"As a public figure, it is important that children see and know that we are taking a positive message and that mistakes, although they cause us frustration, you learn to be a better person and not to repeat them. We are giving our grain of sand so that they know that in violence there is no positive results given. What it does is destroy and not to build a better future," said Juanma López after the talk.

In turn, Jantony Ortíz told the students that - "a mistake almost cost me my dream, to keep fighting in professional boxing and becoming a world champion.  From your fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles and aunts you always get tips, but at the end it is you who makes the decisions."

"I had a problem on the street because I was being annoying and it turned controversial. The mind is sometimes distracted with evil and negative thoughts and you should replace them and fight them with positive thoughts and most importantly with God in your hearts. Don't forget it.” 

He concluded “I want to thank my promoter, Black Tiger Promotions, for allowing me to be a part of this motivational campaign."

The 'Use Gloves Not Guns' campaign, will have their event on Friday, March 31 at the Coliseum Rubén Rodríguez of Bayamón from 7:00 pm, where in the main event, 'Juanma' López will face Albert “Entrenadorcito” Rivera. All proceeds from the event will go to charity.

The event "Use Gloves Not Guns" is in reference to the known movement in the United States entitled "Gloves Not Guns", that promotes discipline, moral character and confidence in youth. The movement has a very positive message: take the youth from the street and turn them into good and healthy athletes through the sport of boxing.
