Mexican boxer Juan "Churrito" Hernandez is already in Japan for his upcoming clash with the minimumweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Kazuto Ioka. Hernandez has been accompanied by his manager Aquiles Torres and trainer Jorge Barrera.
After leaving the airport in Tokyo, Hernandez (18-1, 13 KOs) said that despite the heavy travel, his mentality is very focused to come out victorious against Ioka (7-0, 5 KOs). Their clash takes place on August 10 at Korakuen Hall.
"Finally we are on Japanese soil. The trip was long and heavy, but it doesn't matter because I'm going be a world champion. You have to beat these challenges, therefore, I only have to wait until the day of the fight," he said.
"That's the mentality that I have, going out there to win and by knockout, so there is no doubt. The preparation I did was very good and I want to bring the world championship to Mexico. Nobody in boxing is invincible. We're all at risk of losing, so I do not think Ioka is a fighter who can't be beat."
