Karim Guerfi and Jordan Gill faced off several times during fight week, as they prepare to meet for the European featherweight title on Sunday night.
The two fighters collide on the undercard of Lawrence Okolie’s WBO cruiserweight title fight with Michal Cieslak in London, which is broadcast live on DAZN.
The final press conference took place on Friday, with Guerfi (30-5, 9 KOs) and Gill (26-1-1, 7 KOs) speaking to the media head of the highly-anticipated showdown.
Guerfi said: “I’m happy to fight here on this show. I am ready for this fight, and I believe I will prove why I’m a champion. Jordan is a good fighter, and on Sunday we will have a good fight, but it will be a victory for me.
“I’m 35 now, and bantamweight was too hard for me. I had the opportunity to fight at featherweight for the European title, and I was really happy to win it. Now I want to prove what else I can do.”
Gill said: “This is a big challenge and a must win, but I thrive under pressure, so I’m looking forward to it. There have been a lot of us and downs, but there are in any walk of life. I’ll stay until the end and turn up to the gym every day and do what I can do, knowing I’ll get there in the end.
“I’m looking forward to this fight, and it’s an exciting time to be in the division. This is a massive fight for me, and I’ll get this won then I’m right up there ready for the next step up.”
