Joel Brunker is confident he can shake off October's defeat to Lee Selby and destroy the hype surrounding Josh Warrington on Saturday night.

The Australian (28-1-KO16) returns to the UK for the first time since the ninth-round stoppage loss in London to take on Warrington (21-0-KO4) for the Commonwealth featherweight title in Leeds - live on Sky Sports.

Having warmed up for the bout by recording a second round stoppage victory over Rey Laspinas in New South Wales in February, Brunker is relishing the prospect of fighting in front of British fans again.

The 29-year-old told Sky Sports of his disappointment after the Selby fight: "I've come back and got another opportunity to fix up what I didn't do right last time. Hopefully we can get that done right.

"I just didn't throw any punches. I went to chase him down and he was quick, moving and catching me with everything. I didn't let my hands go.

"He's good at what he does. His style works perfectly against my style because I'm an aggressive-style fighter and he's a back-foot fighter and got rid of me."

Looking ahead to facing Warrington, he added: "I imagine it's going to be a great fight. We both like to throw and be busy. It's going to go for longer on the night. That's what it's all about.

"It's all about the fans. It's about great fights and that's what we're coming to give them. The atmosphere is great. It's great to see people here supporting boxing, which is the sport I love. Who can beat that?"
