Former middleweight boxing champion Jermain Taylor is back in the hot seat.
Taylorhas been arrested in Arkansas after police allege he punched a woman, held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her.
Little Rock police say they were called to Taylor's home Wednesday afternoon in regard to a disturbance with a weapon. The 40-year-old Taylor has been charged with third-degree domestic battery and aggravated assault on a family or household member. He's been booked into the Pulaski County Jail without bond. Online jail records don't list an attorney for him.
Police in the Little Rock suburb of Maumelle arrested Taylor in July 2017 on a disturbance call. A woman alleged that Taylor bit her on the arm and face and threatened to kill her.
Earlier this month, prosecutors dropped those domestic violence charges against him, after the woman failed to continue cooperating with authorities.
Taylor suffered a brutal knockout at the hands of Arthur Abraham in 2009, as part of the Super Six super middleweight tournament.
He took off from boxing for two years before mounting a comeback, that saw him capture the IBF middleweight crown with an unexpected dominating win over Sam Soliman in 2014.
But before he could cash in on the big title win, Taylor was involved in a variety of legal issues that saw him get arrested for several violent crimes.
He’s currently serving a six-year suspended sentence after pleading guilty in 2015 to nine charges, including shooting his cousin in the leg.
