The Professional Boxing Commission of Puerto Rico has summoned undefeated bantamweight prospect Jantony Ortiz (5-0, 3KOs) as part of an investigation to determine the boxer's role in a street brawl with a group of individuals at a shopping mall located in Humacao.

Juan Cartagena, executive director of the Commission, told Primera Hora that Ortiz will be interviewed regarding an alleged physical assault on an individual who has not been identified.

Ortiz is exposed to a punishment ranging from the suspension of his boxing license to a public apology, according to Cartagena.

Ortiz wrote an apology on his Facebook profile.

"I hereby want to express my sincere apologies for the conflict in which I was involved. I admit I had a great lack of judgment for which I am very sorry. I want to emphasize that I have never tried to use my skills for any other purposes other than sports. I personally respect and I love this sport, and for that reason I apologize to all my fans and the people of Puerto Rico for this situation.

Ortiz, was scheduled to fight in December but his bout was canceled.

The 21 year old boxer represented Puerto Rico at London's 2012 Olympic Games. He turned pro under Miguel Cotto's Cotto Promotions banner.
