IBF super middleweight champion James DeGale (21-1, 14KOs) is not expecting a battle of Olympic gold medal winners with WBA champion Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs).

DeGale captured the vacant IBF title with a twelve round unanimous decision win over Andre Dirrell in a Premier Boxing Champions televised main event from Boston. He became the first boxing in British history to win a gold medal in the Olympics and then moved on to win a world title as a professional.

Ward, the last man to win Olympic gold for the United States, is back on June 20th for the first time since the fall of 2013. He faces DeGale's Matchroom stablemate Paul Smith at a catch-weight of 172-pounds.

"Andre Ward wouldn't fight me I'm telling you. He won't fight me. I just want to unify titles, I want to box the big names. Whoever Eddie Hearn can link me up with. Whoever the boxing fans want me to fight I'll fight," DeGale said. "Ward is not going to fight me. He's boxing Paul Smith next and we'll see after that."
