Roberto Palomares gave Ivan Garcia rounds Saturday night in Mexico City.

The Mexican flyweight just wasn’t able to affect the unbeaten prospect with any of the punches he landed in their six-round fight. Garcia out-landed him and overcame a cut over his left eye to win a decision on the Emanuel Navarrete-Uriel Lopez undercard televised from TV Azteca's Studios.

Garcia, a flyweight prospect from Mexico City, increased his record to 6-0. Palomares slipped to 5-5-1.

Garcia’s right hand stopped Palomares in his tracks with just about a minute left in the sixth round.

An overhand right by Garcia clipped Palomares about 55 seconds into the fifth round. Palmores’ left hook knocked Garcia off balance with 38 seconds to go in the fifth.

Garcia suffered a cut over his left eye just before the midway mark of the fourth round. A ringside physician looked at the cut with 1:31 to go in that round before allowing the action to continue.

Once he was cut, Garcia began fighting with a sense of urgency.

Palomares landed his right hand twice in the first half of the third round. A short right hand by Garcia landed flush with 1:10 remaining in the third round.

Palomares and Garcia each landed in an exchange that began about 30 seconds into the second round. A left hook by Garcia backed Palomares into the ropes just after the halfway point of the second round.

Garcia’s chopping right hand connected to the side of Palomares' head in the final minute of the second round.

Garcia caught Palomares with an overhand right with 1:10 to go in the opening round. Garcia backed up Palomares with another right hand later in the first round.

Palomares' left hook caught Garcia and moved him backward toward the end of the first round.
