Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz doesn't seem too excited about the prospect of facing Ryan Garcia.

For now, he remains cautiously optimistic after the World Boxing Council (WBC) ordered a lightweight title eliminator between the two fighters.

If no agreement is reached between Garcia's promoter, Oscar De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions, and Cruz's promoter, Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions, a purse bid will be held on June 14.

The winner of the proposed fight would be guaranteed a title shot at the WBC belt currently held by Devin Haney, who will face unified champion George Kambosos on June 14.

Even with the WBC's order, Cruz is not sure if the fight will come off.

"I'm not so confident. I'm thinking 50-50. A fifty of trust and another fifty of distrust for the simple fact that they are not confident people and fearful of it being signed. When the agreement arrives, they will throw it away, because his belly hurts, he did not find makeup or something else," Cruz told George Ebro.

"My promoter Sean Gibbons and Premier Boxing Champions are in the best position to negotiate to ensure this fight takes place, as long as they see the seriousness on the part [of Team Garcia] as well. This is one of those fights that we are looking for, the fights that we want. Whether it's Ryan, whether it's George Kambosos, whether it's Devin Haney, any 135-pounder, we want them too. We're going to do everything we can to go for those big fights.

“[A fight with me and Garcia could be] very entertaining. Both Ryan and myself will be able to make a great fight, but as long as he comes ready to fight and not to dance, but it can certainly be a very attractive fight for the fans."
