The heavyweight triangle between David Haye, Ruslan Chagaev and Alexander Povetkin was explained by Frank Bleydorn, a representative of Sauerland Event. Sauerland is the co-promoter of Haye and the sole promoter of Povetkin. Bleydorn issued a statement that Chagaev is still the mandatory challenger to Haye's WBA crown. Chagaev's participation in the fight has fallen under question due to his exposure to Hepatitis B. The British Board of Control is likely not going to approve him to fight in the UK.

If the fight moved to another country like Germany, Bleydorn doesn't see a problem taking place. Haye is likely not going to agree to a fight with Chagaev in Germany. If there is no solution to making a Chagaev fight happen, then the WBA's number two ranked contender, Povetkin, would fall in line. 

"Currently, the official applicant to fight with Haye is still Ruslan Chagaev. If we find that a fight between David Haye and Chagaev is not possible, then there is a chance that a Haye-Povetkin match can happen, since Alexander occupies the following position under the WBA. Now, however, much of this depends on the venue for Haye's next fight. Take the battle to Germany, and there would be no problems with Ruslan Chagaev," Bleydorn told Alexander Pavlov.
