This boxing event hosts three female championship bouts and is scheduled for Thursday, March, 31 2011 at the inaugural week of the Costa Rica National Stadium in San Jose, Costa Rica. The main event will consist of undefeated, defending WBO Jr. Middleweight Champion from Costa Rica, Hanna Gabriel vs. (Mexican) fighter Melisenda Perez.
The co-featured event will be a prize contest for the vacant IBF female, Super Bantamweight title between Melinda “La Maravilla” Cooper, from the United States, via Las Vegas, Nevada vs. Ada “Ace” Velez, from Puerto Rico, via Hollywood, Florida, U.S.A.
The Featherweight division will host a fierce contest between Dahiana Santana from the Dominican Republic vs. Stacey “Stay-Lo” Reile from Miami, Florida, for the vacant IBF title. Plus four additional scheduled bouts with local boxing talents.
Sampson Boxing LLC President, Sampson Lewkowicz announced from San Jose Costa Rica: “I am very pleased to see the support and embrace from the boxing fans here in Costa Rica. In addition, I am grateful to have SOLD OUT the venue which holds a fan capacity of 15,000 seats for this event. In gratitude for the fan support shown, we will be able to bring Hanna Gabriel back to a Costa Rican venue for a future show.”
Sampson Boxing has also announced that scalpers should be aware that local law enforcement will be cracking down on this practice and will be heavily penalized by the local government. Moreover, fans without a ticket to the event are advised to not show up as security will be very tight to maintain order.
