Stuart Hall is in line for a shot at his old title after winning a final eliminator.

The former IBF bantamweight title holder, 36, will get the chance to fight for the same title against Lee Haskins, who defends his crown next month, after outpointing Rodrigo Guerrero, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

Hall, who is now 20-4-2 with seven early endings, had the better of the early stages in the fight, which was part of the undercard of Josh Warrington’s WBC International featherweight title defence against Hisashi Amagasa at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

But as the fight went on, the tough Mexican (24-6-1, 16 KOs), 28, who is a former IBF super flyweight world titlist, came back into the fight and, despite being cut in the second, gave as good as he got.

However, Hall began to run away with the fight down the stretch and will get the chance to fight for another world title after getting the clash on all three judges’ scorecards against the ever-moaning visitor by margins of 117-111.

Meanwhile, Maxi Hughes advanced to 16-2-2 (2 KOs) with a points victory over six rounds against late stand-in Fonz Alexander, who slips to 3-30 (1 KO), after originally being slated to come up against Michael Mooney of Worcester.

And Jake Ball moved to 5-0 (4 KOs) with a points victory against Liverpudlian Colin Farricker, who dropped the decision and evened out his record to 3-3 (1 KO).

Jeff Saunders also continued his unbeaten run in the pro game, moving to 7-0 (5 KOs) with a points win over Tottenham’s Mark McKray, who is now 6-35-1 (5 KOs).
