UIC Pavilion, Chicago - ESPN's Friday Night Fights was a doubleheader filled with controversial draws. Donovan George (24-3-2, 21KOs) continued his gradual slide to 160-pounds and appeared to have earned a ten round unanimous decision, but the judges felt otherwise and scored his fight with David Lopez (41-13-1, 23KOs) as a ten round draw. The scores were 97-94 for Lopez, 96-94 for George and 95-95 for the draw. George had a tougher tough than expected, but Lopez did very little in many of the rounds and didn't display the desire to win in the late rounds.

Adrian Granados (11-2-2, 7KOs) appeared to be on the verge of the biggest win of his career, but had to settle for a ten round draw with former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (33-5-2, 28KOs). The scores were 96-94 for Granados, 97-93 for Cintron and a 95-95 for the draw. Cintron was making his return to the welterweight division and he did not look good. Granados, moving up from 140-pounds, boxed well and stunned Cintron several times in the fight.

Featherweight prospect Hairon Socarras (7-0-1, 5KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Sergio Montes de Oca (7-2-1, 2KOs). De Oca went down in the first round from a grazing shot. The scores were 40-35 across the board.
