Frank Warren insists Ricky Burns must be at his dazzling best when he faces Nicky Cook this weekend.

Burns defends his WBO super-featherweight title against Cook and victory for the Scot could help him land a unification clash in the future.

But promoter Warren has warned the Coatbridge man he needs to produce an impressive display to increase the clamour for big future fights.

"This is a fight that Ricky not only has to win but one he must win in decisive fashion," he told the Evening Times.

"His past two defences against Andreas Evensen and Joseph Laryea have been well received but we need Ricky to come down to Liverpool on Saturday night and let it all go.

"South of the border Ricky needs to lift his profile. This fight has been made for him to do that but at the same time there is no way he will get it easy against Nicky Cook.

"He is a proud man and a former champion who wants the title back more than life itself. For me that makes for a cracking fight."
