Aye so did you used to subscribe to or read Nintendo Power back in the mid to late 90's?
Hahah man it was awesone. Before Internet was like it is now, ****zines and other print mediums were essentially the only go-to source for popular but still considered niche interests.
They used to allow readers to send in proof of best times, scores, etc and publish your name if you were like in the top-10ish of any given game.
I remember playing Mario Kart so much and particularly certain tracks like Rainbow Road which was awesome amd groundbreaking at that time on 64.
I was also DAMN CLOSE to getting a top-10 individual lap time and overall time on this one track in excite-bike 64 (probably one of the top-5 best games for the 64).
Hahah remember joking with my mom about how proud she could be of her son who made it in Nintendo Power!!!
