Nice boxing business article. And here I thought, Golden Boy was a promotional juggernaut making loads of ca$h. Leave it to Bob Arum to provide the financial and business insight into the goings on of rival promoter GBP...

Arum has no shame to say it's all about the money, not the fans or the sport. He just gives that feeling that if you're not "one of my guys" you don't get to share the (Arum's) money.

Meaning he wont deal with anyone that's not Top Rank, let alone someone signed to Golden Boy or attached to them. He's talking shyt about his rival company and people wonder why big fights don't get made between the two companies.

Why even talk about GBP? He already said he doesn't know facts. He's just talking shyt to talk shyt. This is one of the reasons why fights don't get made between the two.

I would not believe Arum but it doesn't mean that it is not true.
Arum is just too grimy, manipulative and persuasive to take anything
he says with a grain of salt.

Who knows how they are doing financially.

But one thing Arum said that is true, is that with the amount of HBO dates GB has they do a terrible job.

All these dates and we get Ortiz vs a bunch of bums, Joan Guzman multiple times, Robert Guerrero? (No offense to Guerrero, but how can anyone defend him getting all these fights on HBO, hes not even fighting top guys!), Casamyor, Vivian Harris, Nate Campbell, Rocky Juarez, Mosley vs Martinez, John Ruiz, Haye vs complete scrubs, old man Hopkins, They did Haymon a bunch of favors and put Jacobs all over HBO like he was already a star.

There only ticket sellers were all bought. Saul, Diaz, Marquez, Kahn, Haye (Hopkins Mosley if you want to include them) Barerra. They havn't established one guy through there system.

If the fight doesn't include Katsidis or Marquez, it's pretty much crap when GB is involved.

The only thing Golden Boy does that I like is there Thursday Night fight series. Those are usually really entertaining cards. Everything else they do is crap.

Than they rip arum, and and bring him to court when his son just died, rip manny, and than ask for a fight? Boxing Promotions is a grimey world, but the oldschool promoters always knew how to put the fights together that needed to happen. GBP doesn't seem to get that.
