Floyd didnt retire in order to duck Cotto/Margarito. Reason why?

Anyone who knows me, knows that i cant stand Floyd "i wanna be like Paris Hilton" Mayweather, but think about it. If Floyd was trying to avoid the Cotto/Margarito winner, why not fight Oscar in Sept, get his payday, THEN retire? A fight with the winner of the Cotto/Margo bout wouldnt be able to be made any sooner than December 2008 anyway.

The reason Floyd has retired is because he didnt have his way at the negotiating table with Oscar. Floyd stands 5'7, but his ego is 10ft tall. He really thinks that the 2.4mil ppv's him and Oscar did last year was his own doing! He's even said it himself. Everyone here knows that Oscar can pull in 1mil+ ppv's fighting pretty much any other high profile fighter in the sport. Can Floyd? I dont think so. Floyd feels that because he was the winner of thier first bout, that he has the right to the larger chunk of the purse. While that might sound right, everyone knows that's not how it works in this business. Oscar is still the biggest draw in the sport, and Floyd's ego would'nt let him accept the smaller piece of the pie for the rematch. Like i've said several times before, he overvalues himself as an entertainer.

On top of that, the rematch was drawing VERY negative outcry from the boxing community. Outside of the DIEHARD Oscar and Floyd fans, NOBODY wanted to see this rematch. Close or not, there was nothing in thier first fight that warranted the desire to see a rematch. Plain and simple. So i think the combination of not wanting to take a back seat to Oscar AGAIN, and the negative press this fight was receiving, is the reason why Floyd decided to TEMPORARILY retire AGAIN. His lifestyle is too expensive for him to walk away from 15-20mil paydays. UNFORTUNATELY, he will be back. If its to face the winner of Cotto/Marg, then i wont mind, but if he returns to take meaningless fights/rematches, then i'd prefer he stay the **** out the game. I watch boxing to see competitive and entertaining fights. I can give 2 flying ****s how much a fighter makes. To some Floyd fans, that seems to be thier main concern.

With that said, i still dont think fighting the winner of Cotto/Margarito were ever in Floyd's plans.

I really believes he wants to fight Cotto and I think he wants Cotto to beat Margarito and De la Hoya so he can get the kind of money he wants.

I know to some people it is important to them how much money PBF makes. But in a lot cases on here I think you along with a lot of other people take a person's understanding of why PBF is taking business fights over competitive fights as them caring about how much money he gets and agreeing with those decisions.

I myself understand PBF taking the fights that make the most even though they may not be the most competitive. But I also admit that I don't agree with it.

Cotto beating Margarito and De la Hoya will bring PBF the type of money and competition recognition he wants.

        Cotto?? "Not enough paper".

All your beliefs are shoved back to where it came from because Fake Floyd said so himself.

Don't tell me you know Fake Floyd better than he knows himself.

Let's not apply the future to a present scenario. It's a what-if only turds will use to defend Fake Floyd.

Now apply that to Fake Floyd himself.

And you'll find out your meal of words is ready to be served.

Total BS...Cotto won't cry woe is me after fighting his most lucrative fight and retiring to pull a circus stunt.

As it stands Cotto/Marg is facing Oscar in December. Come 2009 if Floyd doesn't make his staged return to claim his spotlight back, I have no doubt Cotto will face a Clottey, Williams, or Berto considering those guys will hold one of the ABC belts to clean up the division.

                Try again...

There is absolutely no BITCHASSNESS in Cotto's blood stream. Miguel Cotto will fight anyone and everyone point blank period. Don't make Cotto to be as much of a ***** as your idol homie. Just about everyone is over him except you and the select Coalition groupies.

Floyd's ego cost him $20 mil. Im actually happy that he decided to retire and not rematch Oscar. I guess this time, dollars DID'NT make cents! LOL.
