I met Patterson several times and once I sat next to him on the Dias of the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies for over 4 hours. This was about 25 years ago and he was asked to make one of the presentations. He asked me if I knew anything that he could say about the honoree. I told him not to worry, and I wrote down everything he would have to say. After he made his presentation, he came back to his seat and thanked me so much.
I thought that was Great! Here a former 2 time Heavyweight Champion of the World, saying Thank you to me. He was so nice. We talked almost the hold time.
