Just bits and pieces in flashes. Which is what made the movie eerie. It let you use your imagination.

If you reveal too much about the monster or in this case the premise in these kinds of movies it tends to take away a lot of the suspense and thrills
    Excellent points.

How do you feel about Arnie returning for two more Terminator movies ... ?

I didn't even know he signed on to do two more. But personally, I think the Terminator movies are best left alone. I thought the 3rd one, albeit as underwhelming as it was, answered all the questions and left on a good note.

Salvation with Bale looked promising, but it turned out to be garbage.

Then they had some ****** TV series that went nowhere. I think it's best left alone.

I love Arnie, but I think his time as an actor is up. Especially if he can't get in decent shape for a role because of his heart condition. So beyond cameos I don't see him doing well in a starring role.

“I can’t say to much they want it held in secret if you know what I mean, but I will say that next year I will start filming it and it’s going to be one of the hardest films I have ever done I can tell you that already for sure”, he revealed.

“They have six months set aside just for filming, so I will be training and getting into the best physical shape I possibly can before filming starts. It does follow Salvation although some of the producers and franchise owner were not too happy about the job McG did with it but they felt it was good enough to continue on, and they want the fifth and sixth instalments to be the closing of the franchise.”

Yeah Salvation was muck. 3 was an expected disappointment, but the ending redeemed it somewhat.

        No Cameron, no Terminator.

They've already proved that even with Arnold, the franchise is not secure.

See it in 3d or 2d?

I can't be doing with 3d. It's cute for a short clip or two, but a feature film, feck that.

I tend not to notice the difference after 5mins regardless, other than a slightly lighter wallet. I did see this in 3D though, purely because of timing.

Will Cameron be involved with these next two?

No sir, and coming from someone who suffers from motion sickness and gets a headache after gaming for too long

Unfortunately not. Actually, Cameron has gone on record as saying that after he does his Avatar sequels, he's done with motion pictures and will only work on documentaries.

So I just watched the movie and as I mentioned in previous post, I am a die hard Ridley Scott fan. I've seen Blade Runner nearly about two dozen times now, and just about every time I watch it and I find new themes here in there. Same with the first Alien movie.

Prometheus was a complete let-down in my honest opinion. They did so well with the viral campaign that people's expectation of the movie was built up very high. The story and plot has many holes in it, the writers were utterly terrible. I almost knew that the story was not going to be great because Damon Lindelof was involved in it. They definitely set the story to have a sequel or two, so they left a lot of things hanging. At the end of the movie, you're really left with more questions than answers.

The script was terrible, no one had the balls to tell Ridley that. I suspect that Ridley's original vision was driven off track by the writers just so they could engineer the movie to have sequels.

I blame the writers more than anything. The world it was set in was great, once again Ridley Scott proves that he is the master of creating worlds. One that you can believe in. The film was technically sound, all thanks to Ridley. The story was just terrible. I'll write a more coherent rant tomorrow morning with more detail, I just literally spent about 3 hours completely trashing the film over drinks at the local pub with some of the people I saw the movie with. Good night, and fuck Lost and Dustin Lindelhof.

To a degree, yes, some questions should remain unanswered if a sequel is on the horizon. But there are too many unanswered questions, and based on what questions were answered in Prometheus, no way will a sequel fill the void.

                      Original Alien unanswered questions:

Where did the ship come from?
                      Where was the ship headed? {Answered in Prometheus ... Earth}
Who were the space jockey's and where did they originate?
Why did the ship have a storage bay full of egg-like objects?
                      Where did the Alien originate?

Prometheus originated questions: SPOILERS in white

Where did the space jockey's originate?
Why did they initiate life on Earth?
Why do they now, want to release a alien based bio-weapon on earth?
If the alien bio-weapon wasn't created, where did it originate?
Why did David intentionally infect Dr. Holloway?
Why are there canisters containing alien goo in Prometheus, but eggs in Alien?
How many ships were on that planet and were they all storing alien bio-weapons and had a destination of Earth?
If the pyramid explored, contained one ship and the crew were exposed to the alien bio-weapon and killed -- What about the other ships?
What happened to the crews on the other ships on that planet?

                      I can relate, if the writers wanted to deviate from the norm, but to deviate totally and introduce new elements undermines the concept of a prequel. And this would have to be considered a prequel, because it kept intact some very key elements. {space jockey & their ship}

Look at "The Thing 1982" and "The Thing Prequel 2011", elements native to the original were maintained and one could see the relationship between the two movies. We still did not find out where the "Thing" originated, but it resolved the questions relating to the Swedish {Who encountered the Thing first} completely.

Like I stated, it was a very good movie as a stand-alone, but if its intention was to fill-in the gaps left open in the original Alien movie -- then it deviated too much to accomplish its goal.
