Sources close to Dorian Price (7-3) have confirmed to MMAFightline.com that the UFC has released the the colorful TUF 6 contestant from his contract.
Price participated in TUF 6 where the muy thai ace was submitted via rear naked choke by Matt Arroyo. He went on to battle Roman Mitichyan at The Ultimate Fighter Finale where he was bested in the first round, again by submission.
It appeared quite evident from the show and at the TUF Finale that Dorian Price needs to develop his ground game further before he can be a factor in the UFC. This point was apparently not lost on Reed Wallace of White Chocolate Management who signed Price this week to a management contract. WCM feels that Price can be a force if given proper ground training; and to that end have introduced him to Miami Gracie Academy and American Top Team in Florida where Price has agreed to relocate.
Price will train under the personal supervision of BJJ Master's Pedro and Gui Valente at Miami Gracie Academy. The Valente's are very well respected in BJJ circles being one of only three schools in the USA officially sanctioned by the Grand Master Helio Gracie. He'll also get plenty of experience battling with the likes of Jeff Monson, Din Thomas, JZ Cavalcante and Thiago Alves on the ground at American Top Team.
