Shyne trying to live up to his potential in 2010: 'The Roller Song' Shows Shyne still

...has it. Its weird, when I first heard this song I was not impressed at all. But it really grew on me and has become one of my favorite songs of this year. When Shyne started releasing new music earlier this year many including me, were dissapointed. It seemed like he had completley morphed into a different rapper. The lyrics were still there, but his flow and voice had changed for the worse. Then came this song, titled 'The roller song', I now believe Shyne can fulfill his fans wishes afterall and fulfill his potential as an MC.

I don't think he'll ever be the Shyne Po we remember from 1998-2001(even up until 2004). The Shyne who was on his way to stardom and had the perfect flow and voice to challenge the top rappers in NY. The Shyne who ushered in trends such the flat brim fitted over the eyes, but its not fair to expect him to be that Shyne. That Shyne was alive when he was 18-22 years old and still living in New York City. The fact is hes 31 now, and hasnt stepped foot in New York City in almost 10 years. And he no longer lives in this country because he was deported upon his release last fall.

So while we all would like Shyne to be his 20-22 year old self, we(including me), need to accept that it isn't happening and for good reason. Back to this song, the beat is really dope. And Shyne is on point lyrically and his flow works in this song. This song has given me confidence as a fan that Shyne's new album has a chance to be dope, with the right production. I doubt he'll have alot of commercial success with the game as it is, but real hip hop fans don't care about sales and neither do Shyne fans. Its the music that matters.

    alright enough of my rambling.
