Genre by Genre, you can name some classics and a short review on why you love these albums so much. What are yours? *you can name more in different posts as they come to you*
Nirvana Unplugged- Really didnt **** with this much until recently. I always had a small thing for some Nirvana songs but their grunge sound turned me off to them a bit. So I stumbled across this and let me tell you this hasto be their best work, unplugged is unreal. Cobain has a dark but intruging message through out the album and the music is toned down and brilliant. This truly is a classic and one of my favorite albums.
Only Built For Cuban Linx- By far my favorite hip hop album ever. The concept behind it has been done over and over since but this Wu Tang coke ridden album was simply brilliant. The raw unpolished vocals, followed by the typical Rza mid 90s drums was unmatched in my mind. I prefer this over 36 Chambers simply because the storyline that comes with it. The chemistry between Chef and Ghost is unmatched. I have loved this **** for years and to this day it has remained my top Hip Hop album ever.
Continuum- John Mayer- Never was a big Mayer fan before this album but this was a creative masterpiece. Mayer expands his guitar riffs and his lyrics and song writing ability to a whole new level. It is one of those albums you can lay back to and just let it run. Relaxing and smooth all the way through plus the Hendrix cover makes it worth a buy. Since this album I have looked backed and appreciated the rest of his catalog but no album of his matches Continuum to date. Mayer who now is expanding back into his blues roots has got to be a favorite of mine for what type of music he brings.
Icky Thump- The White Stripes- By far the best album of 2007, The Stripes have outdone themselves. I can play this metal, blues, hybrid all the way through and not get sick of it. Jack White is unreal writing and guitar playing, this is one of my favorite efforts.
ATLiens- Outkast- My favorite Outkast album, **** is simply unreal. I truly love this album, the lyrics, concept and beats are unmatched on a southern record. Andre proves how dope he truly is and Big Boi is right behind him. You get the vibe from the intro and it continues throughout this album. If you want to expand your music and enjoy Outkast and the south at its finest pick this up.
