My cousin is autistic. She has great parents and has had lots of support from a young age. She’s going to university next year and has done very well in her exams.
She’s definitely ‘unusual’ but having two devoted parents who have done everything possible to bring her up as normally as possible while having a deep understanding of her issues means that she’s a bright, well-adjusted young woman.
Yes, there is a wide spectrum of autism disorders. So not all of them are the same, some are high functioning and can attend regular schools and hold decent jobs, some are unable to live on their own and need a lot more assistance in their day to day life.

My daughter is autistic but the thing is, as they say, "if you know one person with autism, you know one person with autism".
As a result of having an autistic daughter, I know quite a few autistic people. They haven't got a lot in common.
My nephew autistic he 4..... He smart asf... But bad at communicating. He understands everything but just bad expressing himself to the point I can't have a real conversation with him.
He will say words but can't put them together he also slurs his words.

But he smart and has great memory.
So he's on the lower functioning end? Might need to be in treatment when he gets older, just to learn to communicate more effectively. I was diagnosed with Asperger's, which is on the higher functioning end. It's hard af to connect and communicate with people, but with practice and good, supportive therapy, it gets easier over time.
Is he comfortable around you? Sometimes it takes a while. I know some people on the spectrum don't like physical contact, while others do, but only after they know someone for a while. So hope he's okay with giving his uncle a hug.

I'm like his best friend.... I understand him and he can express himself to me.... But I been around him since he was born. He doesn't have to same much I just tell from the look on his face or the certain words he use.
U wouldn't think anything off till he tries to communicate then confuse his age basically.
