What Do You Figure Is An Appropriate Salary For A Man?

The median household income in the USA is about 62K, more than half of that is from the male counterpart, therefore you'd figure an average male makes anywhere from 40-50K a year on average.

Obviously which state you live in determines a lot in regards to cost of living, but on average, would 50K be enough to satisfy you, and if not what would?

    I’d feel rich at $1000/day

If your house is paid for and you have no kids, 50K is plenty. For the rest of us, we might need a bit more.

50K would be more than enough for me, although I'm in the UK so don't pay any healthcare bills.

I can afford the lifestyle I want on less than that.

Our main house isn't paid for yet but we have zero bills. We have a discover card that we pay each month and get cash back rewards.

I don't make anything as Im retired for now. Wife makes about 115k a year with bonuses.

We have a second home that we owe 200k on but we have good renters and have yet to have to make a payment ourselves. Not counting the first couple months after buying it.

We don't even touch our savings or cash that I made from my business. Her income is way more than enough.

The goal for everyone should be not to live beyond their means. I haven't kept track of a checkbook or account for years.

It all depends, wife, kids, no kids.

If you are married with kids and the sole breadwinner; you have to be making well over $100K with good health/dental insurance, 401K, paid time off, etc.

In my region (Boston), you need to be earning $110K+ to be able to afford a decent house in a decent neighborhood.

A single man can live comfortably on 1000 bucks a week so 52k

If you've got wife and kids leeching off you then 100k

Enjoy your freedom while it lasts. A man earning 52k a year who doesn’t share with his Uncle Sam will soon find himself living uncomfortably but inexpensively on the government’s dime.
