Do masks work?

Right on for the responses. Just makes me go back to the question then on if they work, why can't we open up everything then. If there's people who don't want to wear them then don't serve them, but for those who are, open it all up.

If the entire church is wearing masks, open it up. If you have a mask, why the need to still social distance and only have it 50% occupancy if masks work.

Again, if it can still spread even with masks then no one should be wearing it then

If you're not wearing an FFP3 mask or N95 you're not protecting yourself fully but that's not what it's about. It's about limiting spread.

The best example used is the pee one. Which is used at work actually. With pants (underpants) being like a mask. Bit of a weird premise really but makes the most sense.

However, if I wear pants and you are wearing pants and I pee. The pee stays with me.

Are they? I know in the UK hardly anyone wears a mask.

Think it is by and large because it isnt really enforceable.

I dunno about over there but there isnt the police in the UK to enforce something like this with fines, or even arrests. They have already said they will not be responding or dealing with issues surrounding masks.

Masks arent mandated here yet but when they are you are relying on civilians modifying each others behaviour.

We arent good at that in the West. We are essentially selfish in essence and most of us have no real sense of community spirit.

Couple that with as we get local spikes. Is it just easier to lock them down? I mean, it probably is.

Factor in delicate social issues.

People can say masks arent political which is something I've heard. Of course they are. Wearing one is a deprivation of liberty. By wearing it you have conceded something. I mean, barely anything but something.

The thing is, everything is political. Every person is, unless they're severely learning disabled or something. It is just the way the world is.

IMHO , I think only a specific mask like a N95 will help to some extent. The mask from the Dollar Tree , or the cloth one you made IMHO does next to nothing if anything at all which is what I see 99.9 % of people wearing.I also see like 90% of people that do wear mask ,wearing the mask the wrong way nose exposed , mouth exposed or a combination of both where the mask is hanging on their damn chin.I also doubt people are even switching or cleaning their mask which is another set of problems. I don't wear a mask , I do carry one (the type that I believe does very little) in case an establishment requires it I can throw it on.
