You mean like MLK, Gandhi level?

Around the world there are politicians, journalists, ordinary people getting killed because they tried to do good all the time. I read an article yesterday about how China has increased the number of organs they have available for transplant incredibly quicker than any other country by rounding up political opponents, imprisoning them, testing them and harvesting their organs. I'd rather be killed on the spot than that, so in that kind of situation I'd be one of the Chinese dudes choosing to stfu and just get on with whatever life I had. The ones making a stand, risking so much obviously have a strong sense of morality and/or giant set of balls. Or a giant clit or whatever.

I can't think of an example in US sport though as I don't watch it. You could argue MJ made a big sacrifice to his NBA career by playing baseball

Black footballers have walked off the pitch in response to racist crowd chanting in some countries. I don't know if any were sacked but they took that risk in order to make a stand, especially in some of the less PC countries.

It doesn't have to be from sport, it what they lose that makes the sacrifice.

For an example Ed Snowden. He sacrificed his country for the people of his country.

Ali is a good one as well, sacrifice the best years of his professional life for a cause, and he would not have even been called up to fight.

Get out of here with that one.
          How so? Explain.

          1. He lost millions of dollars.

          2. He was the subject of death threats.

          3. His house was burned to the ground.

          4. He lost prime years where he could have been in the NBA.

Yea, that doesn't sound like a sacrifice at all, huh?
