Police in Branford said they arrested a man for pointing a handgun at an off-duty New Haven police officer.

Anthony Vigliotti, 29, pulled the weapon at the intersection of East Main Street and Windmill Hill Road on Thursday around 9 p.m., according to police.

The victim dialed 911 to report the incident.

The officer told police that Vigliotti had been tailgating him and blowing his horn beginning at the intersection of North Main Street and Chestnut Street.

He believed it was because Vigliotti wanted to travel at a faster speed.

At the Windmill Hill intersection, police said the suspect pulled his small black semi-automatic handgun out, pointed it at the victim and then drove away.

Police located*Vigliotti and the weapon at his home. He was taken into custody.

Vigliotti has a valid pistol permit, according to police. However, officers seized both the gun and the permit.

The suspect was charged with following too close with intent to harass, second-degree threatening, first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace.

He was released on a written promise to appear in New Haven court on July 19.

I'm pretty certain that is a prime example of it, yes. If i'm wrong, someone educate me, because even though the term has been around a while,
I've not bothered looing into it's meaning/origin and who and why they created the concept.
Only recently, very recently read a handful of threads here and elsewhere disusing it.
But that's definitely white privilege there, going off the bits and pieces of discussions I've seen which isn't a lot.

I get bouts of being utterly sick and tired of discussing race issues and take brakes/avoid threads on any site about race, gets monotonous with trolls and racists and the devils advocates, on another site there was a race-row, this guy actually contradicted himself within 4 posts, blind ******ity is often apparent within these discussions too, it's one of the reasons I took an 8 month brake from here haha.

But my willingness and tolerance of it has topped up after a while of no internet apart from watching shit on it.

This white guy resisted arrested survived multiple tasers and swung at cops and they still didnt use their guns, I read they finally used their guns after 5 minutes of him resisting arrest outside and killed him but man this was insane dude didnt go down with those volts

i never get road rage it's not worth it to get mad while ur in a car. u never know what the other person has in there car. people tend to get real brave when they are inside a windowed cage.

although some idiot did honk at me last night while parking my car. it was annoying.

white privilege is unfortuntely a term that's been bastardized, and somethign that's probably going to be phased out of academic writing.


here are the basics:

if you're black in america you're more likely to be born into poverty
into a family with less literacy
you're more likely to attend a poorly funded school [schools in america aren't funded primarily through the federal government, but locally, through property taxes. so, if you go to a school in a poor area it's likely poorly funded. if you go to a public school in a wealthy area it is well funded.]
poor education more often leads to less meaningful and rewarding work. and crime.


your kids grow up poor, into a family with less literacy, and attend a poorly funded public school. cycle repeats, just as it has since slavery and the jim crow south. the gap in SES is being reduced, but you're still more likely to "make it" in america if you're white.

that's the gist of it. oh, and get mistreated by the police.


basically, the quality of life, and socioeconomic status, can be correlated with race in america. blacks are less likely to "live a good life."
