With pros, staying in shape is part of the job. No off time. Have that "be ready on a moments notice" mindset.
    NEVER USE AN EXCUSE
Which is why, after a career of beating the shlt out of your body, pros tend to let themselves go.
Being the stud that you are, staying in tip top hoe smashing shape comes natually.

        Exactly
In retirement, find a reason to stay in shape.
Just tone it down a little.
It saddens me when I see retired pros looking worse than me

I never had trouble with my weight after walking away.

I had a stroke, gained some weight and then used the mentality of being ready to roll. My stomach tells me that it's hungry, I tell it, no you're not. Something learned in training. And then a minute or two later I'm no longer remembering that I was hungry.

Since I can no longer exercise, I use my mind to lose weight.

Is calisthenics or chair yoga out of the question ?
            Both are extremely effective.

Comparatively speaking, those would just be warm ups.

But if you never box they would be good....................Rockin'

Other than lifting weights, which is frowned upon for boxers, what can't you do ?

I lifted weights my Senior year of high school, I liked it.

I took the weight lifting course, we'd run the mile and play soft ball on the off days.

I made it to the Detroit Golden Gloves finals that year.

                  Never lifted after that doe.

Weight lifting I believe is good for fighters.

You just don't want to bulk up, but build those muscles strong.

                  I can't play the piano.

Just get yourself in to great fighting shape.

And let your fists tell the tale.............Rockin'

A rule of thumb....never underestimate anyone.
If a blind h0mo midget comes at you throwing hands, assume that midget can kill you and do him/her spectacular harm
