Is there life elsewhere in the Solar System?

Could there be some kind of simple life forms on Mars? There is very likely water on the red planet, but very little atmosphere.

What about on Europa, under an icy surface?

Recently scientists have theorized there may be underground oceans on Ganymede - some simple life forms do exist under very thick Antarctic Ice, so could some kind of life exist on the Solar System's largest moon?

The atmosphere on Titan is similar to earth, although it's much colder there. Could some kind of very different life form have evolved in it's seas of liquid methane and ethane?

    What do you think?

Yes, I'm sure some kind of life exists elsewhere

Probably there is, on a large moon or on Mars

    Unlikely, but it's possible

No, there is no life outside earth in the Solar System

Enceladus has a sub-surface liquid ocean. It is the most likely location for life aside from our Earth.

Not in our solar system, or if it is, it's micro organisms like some sort of bacteria, etc..

I do think there is life in the universe, just nothing major in our solar system

          Perhaps.

I wouldn't have expected a small moon like Enceladus to have geyser-like jets of water vapor.

The effects of tidal heating are interesting, it opens up possibilities for life to exist far away from the sun.

We dont know the range of scenarios within which life can exist. Hell, floating microbial life may exist in the atmospheres of the gas giants.

It's a mathematical certainty that life exists elsewhere in this universe.

But what about within the Solar System (outside earth)?

Bacteria and whatnot. Advanced life similar in intelligence to humans... who knows. I don't really think about it. I just think about the universe as a whole.

We may never reach other star systems (except in sci-fi movies), but we should be able to study our Solar System in detail during the 21st century.

There are now plans in place to land unmanned probes on some of Jupiter's moons Ganymede and Europa (just needs money to go ahead).

There will be more Mars probes within a few years. China may land men on Mars within 25 years.
