Is obesity a disease?

Some people are fat because they don't work out and eat unhealthy. There are people who genetically are predisposed to be fat or have a medical condition that prevents them from losing weight.

It's not an A or B answer. People should do research before they just condemn others without understanding the causes.

I only credit it being a true disease in a minority of cases, whereby medically/mentally, they are seriously unable to actively maintain reasonable weight compared to most.

For the vast majority, it's pretty clear they both don't eat healthy reasonable portions of food, and don't move around enough to burn a good amount of it off. Furthermore that's a sign of poor mental thought because it's not ok or healthy to be fat, it IS their fault, there family, kids, friends, the health system WILL suffer as a result.

It's that harsh, but that simple. Lets stop putting gloss on it in a false pretence of it purely being prejudice, because that politically correct shit is a key reason the obesity problem is growing.

Most fat people that get to obese level are lazy and lack control of themselves. There is no excuses to be obese unless you have a medical condition.

People are quick to say they have a slow metabolism, but its a way to masquerade their poor eating habits and lack of exercise. Yes, some people put on weight easier than others, however, there is no reason to end up obese. The majority of fat people I meet have horrendous diets and do not exercise at all from experience.

The problem is; once they get to obesity level, they have no motivation to work it off, because exercise becomes hard work and nobody wants to put themselves through a strict regime.

You are what you eat. Its true.

if you eat mcdonalds 5 times a day and never excercise then you will be fat

if you eat like a normal person and do light excercise, you'll be reasonably healthy
Not true, just depends on what you get from Mcdonalds.

Seriously, though. More and more "diseases" are created merely to give credence to the ever growing list of pharmaceuticals being shoved down Americans' throats in the never ending battle for your dependency on meds and the dollars that they produce.

It's a scam to make people feel like victims.

"Hey, you can't help that you're overweight. It's in you DNA. Here, take these and collect this disability so you can take more of these. We'll help."

It's bull****! But most people are too lazy and ready to believe "they can't help it" to do anything about it. Meanwhile, the fast food industry and the drug industry are makin' a killing.

                You do the math.
You're a complete idiot if you can't figure out reasons why an obese person might need medications.

A disease that seems to only really affect America.

Absolutely. I think I need some medication for my idiocy.

Give the FDA some time, I'm sure they'll approve it.

This is something I hear repeated by fat ****s all the time - That their being a fat **** is a medical problem, not a lifestyle problem. Which is absolutely true in certain cases, but surely not every fat **** on this planet has a thyroid issue, probably not even 20%.

To each his own, though. If they're happy being hideous fat ****s who are more content pulling medical excuses out of their gelatinous asses than they are pulling weight in the gym then there's nothing that we can do to change their mind.

What really pisses me off is getting on a plane and being seated next to one of these CHUDs or worse - Seeing an old or disabled person at the supermarket in need of a motorized cart but unable to get one because the fat ****s are using them to cruise over to the bakery.
