Well I'm not saying you should do anything, but if you're planning on doing what you say in your OP, I'd suggest perhaps seeing how your body and mind react to being in such an altered state. That is if you've never experimented like this before, as others have stated, it is very intense, although brief.

Yeah I believe they both break down into the same or similar chemical. Mushrooms are way less intense but taste god awful. Best way to get those bad boys into you are chocolate bars.

      Just read some Existential books.

'This is a great book written by one of the greatest writer in the history. In this book Tolstoy examines the philosophical question of the meaning of life. He first narrates his early life. He was puzzled by the fact that he was considered a moral person despite his many amoral acts. He also expresses his indifference toward religion. He finds that people who are religious are no more ethical or moral than other less religious people. He goes on to say that religion is used to gain more affirmation and power in society. On the contrary he says that people who show their affiliation to religion are more prone to be morally corrupt. At the age of 50 Tolstoy developed detachedness from life, despite the fact that he was very wealthy and physically fit. He goes on to examine his despair in philosophy to science. He found no satisfactory solution. Later he realized that he posed the question in the wrong way. He discovered that purpose of life can be seen in the life of ordinary people. In my opinion this is a greatly intriguing book. One should not miss it.''

I think the experience of DMT goes a little bit beyond reading a good book....LOL

I think the journey on DMT and via reading a book could reach the same conclusion. However, via DMT it taints the experience and makes the findings much more prominent than if you came to 'em sober after reading a book.

In either case, DMT or the book are but a small piece of the puzzle. The mind is what gives you sight, perceptions, ideas and theories - it just requires stimulation, which both methods offer.

You then attribute beliefs and findings to the taking of the drug and fail to appreciate how great the mind is. I haven't taken anything like DMT before, although I'm definitely interested. But more so for the physical stimulation rather than mental, need to be at peace with myself before undertaking it though.

I want to experience something similar like the OP but its a drug called Ibogaine, also hallucinogenic. Most places sell it as a drug to fight off heavy addiction but it can also be used to find yourself(mental) and challenge your inner demons up close. I only know of a place in Canada and Costa Rica that offers it.

Well, I understand your point but again, there's a big difference in the experience you get with DMT and reading a book, I understand it's you and your mind that will ultimately create the experience but for me it's more of just experiencing it that intrigues me.

I'm not going in with the thought that this will change my life, or that I will see god or meet aliens. I am doing this for the same reason I did the deprivation chamber, I just wanted to see where my mind takes me and to what level.

DMT is the ultimate trip if what I read is true. So yes, it's all a journey, and there are many roads that will take you down the rabbit hole, but how you get there, does make a difference.

How do you plan on ingesting it? Smoking it is the most common but I'd think you wouldn't want to do that being a trainer and all.
