The Town (2010) is different from Point Break (pile of ****) and Heat (over*rated) in the sense that it was made with a hold on the over*acting and with a screenplay that wasn't trite. Watch when it gets nominated. Or just watch the fucking film and judge it for yourself.

True Grit isn't a remake; the original wasn't so loyal to the book, and the Coen brothers is. It is simply another film adapted from a earlier source, just like Shutter Island (Dennis Lehane) So they took the book and made a film loyal to it. And there is indeed variety if you stop watching trailers and letting them decide what is "good" or base your film-viewing on what is on billboards on tv spots, and in fact seek to watch the work that is being produced by filmmakers. The films in my top six scream variety.

No **** the Town is different from Point Break .. all I was saying is that both movies deal with bank robbers and again Hollywood takes so much inspiration from outside sources (books, other movies) what'd ya expect? And I've actually seen it, so why the bolded fu

you can say what you want about True Grit, but it features the same name and plot faithfulness or not the 2010 version is a remake. The movie was already made, how can you babble about the Coen's being more faithful ... so that means it isn't a remake? Correct me if im wrong but don't both versions feature the same characters and same general plot

What would you call it then? A reboot?

anyway I don't really care for watching trailers and reading 1,000s of movie reviews won't really help until you see the movie yourself. Film is probably one of the most subjective things out there. Good movies are hard to find, especially with all the mainstream crap out there. **glad nobody named Tron: Legacy

just like art, everybody isn't going to enjoy it for the same reason. You might be thinking "jeez this movies dry as ****, the plot is moving slow as molasses" when it's really the cinematography or camera angles

I looked back at your list and do see several movies I'm interested in seeing including King's Speech, True Grit, Phillip Morris and Black Swan

**and if I enjoy those movies it won't be because you liked them, it'll be because I came to that conclusion on my own.

Their remaking fantastic four, Hulk, daredevil ect to come out in one or two years, and have a X-men, Captain America, new Wolverine movie, The avengers ect movie coming out too, Marvel has always been my favorite Comic Book company, they should remake X-men too lol

With horror I'm more into Fantasy, Sci Fi horror, not really slasher or ghost films, you'd have to pay me to watch Blair Witch, and slasher movies get old once the suspense is gone, usually.
      1. that's cool, I wouldn't exactly say im in film school so to speak, but I am in process of completing a film & video certificate and that's been very fun. If you enjoy film stick with it man, it's a very versatile field with a ton of different jobs to do

      2. Oh of course how could I forget the Avengers .. last I heard that's planning to be pretty huge. I honestly don't see the need for all those remakes, I'll just leave it at that. 3-D movies are becoming very popular, what's your take on those (according to wikipedia Capt America, and the new X-men are coming out this year along with already mentioned Thor and Green Lantern)

      3. Slasher's do get old, I'll give you that, I guess im just a fan of the simplicity of them.
