[REAL TALK] Flywheel car … old idea from a magazine called popular science

The whole concept was based on two giant flywheels
    tapping into instantaneous power

so many guys I knew said containing two big heavy flywheels is beyond our technological ability

They did a South Park where Mr Garrison invents something similar. He was fed up with long lines at the airports. Garrison got his Master's degree in mechanical engineering from Denver Community College.

Flywheel energy storage is a great idea that has been around for a long time. Putting it into an automobile though, doesn't seem like such a great idea.

How about a massive underground (for safety) flywheel that stores solar energy for home use? Flywheels are very efficient, more so than batteries and are made from materials that are more environmentally friendly than batteries.

How about flywheel energy storage to tap tidal energy. How much energy could be harvested from the 100,000 ton cargo ships in our harbors, rising and falling ~6 feet twice a day??
