I never knew about this guy: Cheikh Anta Diop
I've been doing research on this video that popped up into my youtube feed, and everything seems accurate. He tested mummies for melanin content and found that it was consistent with Sub Saharan Africans. He proved the language was not Semitic, but African. Gave sources for Greeks and the Egyptians themselves referring to Egyptians as Black. He and one of his colleagues defended their position at a UNESCO debate against global specialists and UNESCO said the debate had a lack of balance due to their incomparable contributions. UNESCO then went on to list Egypt in "The General History of Africa" (it's being added apparently would have something to do with the outcome of the debate) along with adding into the book the debate that Diop had participated in to give more context.
It's a great video if anyone wants to sit through it. About 40 minutes long. Respect to this man who needs to be more well known.
