A supermarket in has banned shoppers - despite grocery shopping being classed as an essential service.

chain IGA has announced the move in its Yulara store in the Northern Territory, which is located inside the Ayers Rock resort.

IGA is a popular group of grocery shops with around 1,455 outlets across Australia.

The decision to refuse un-jabbed customers in the Yulara store comes after the Northern Territory introduced a new vaccine pass system on January 10.

The new rules mean anyone over the age of 16 now has to show proof of a double vaccination to enter “high risk” hospitality settings.

A shows zinc picolinate at 10 mg, 25 mg and 50 mg per day all work to “prevent and mitigate” the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Study subjects were generally overweight, diabetic Hispanic women living in Florida.

      Related:

The 104 patients who did not take the zinc were more than seven times more likely to develop symptomatic COVID-19 infection compared to those taking the zinc.

Researchers also found that for every additional comorbidity, the likelihood of developing symptomatic COVID019 infection increased 1.57 times.

      Related:

A comorbidity is an underlying disease state beyond COVID—in this case, the leading such health conditions that lead to worse COVID outcomes are obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

“Despite the lack of official recognition for the role of nutrition in the fight against COVID-19 infection,” concluded the researchers, from two Florida universities, “multiple groups proposed zinc supplementation as an adjuvant for the management of participants.”

“The datasets provide strong evidence that low D3 is a predictor rather than just a side effect of the infection,” the authors concluded.

Statistical correlation analysis further identified a theoretical point of zero mortality—when blood level amounts of 25(OH)D reach 50 ng/mL. That level of vitamin D3 in the blood “would save most lives, reducing the impact even for patients with various comorbidities,” the authors asserted.

The German study joins an already robust body of research of that vouch for the increasingly accepted correlation between higher vitamin D levels and better outcomes in COVID patients. To wit, a recent and notable preprint found that a person is 14 times more likely to end up in severe or critical condition from COVID if a vitamin D deficiency is present.

The research around vitamin D furthers the case for wider use of supplements across global populations to combat the impact of COVID-19 disease, something the authors of the German study conclude as well.

Millions more Australians are eligible for their Covid boosters shots after Victoria and NSW moved slashed the wait time to three months.

Boosters shots hit 1,773,457 in NSW, about half of the eligible 3.4 million and 27.8 per cent of the adult population, and 26 per cent of Victorians.

Australians had to wait four months between their second dose and booster, which was due to change to three months at the end of the month.
