I dont and wont ever understand it. its okay to say unvaccinated are taking up all the beds, being selfish yet noone says anything about the overweight when they are clogging up the ICU beds. no presidents sayng they really want to 'piss off' the obese like they are the unvaccinated or leading journalists saying they should be 'punished'. the government should have been hammering home the benefits of a healthy lifestyle as main way to combat this instead theyve given people a false sense of security, telling them to hide until the magic jab comes along and everything will be fine. im sick to death of these pharma companies, always artificial solutions for everything, as mandown said we didnt boost ourway out of the 1918 pandemic, it ended the way all these pandemics should, naturally

It ended that way because they did not have the technology to save lives. The type of equipment and knowledge was not available then. Yes it faded away on its own but at a huge cost in human lives, productivity and financial resources. Pharma deserves many of the criticisms leveled against them. However these modern vaccines have been proven to mitigate the death toll. The natural way didn't end the smallpox epidemic and banish measels etc. into rare events. It was vaccines that did that despite the greed of big pharma. You are throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Mandates = authoritarian, coercive = bad

Lockdowns = prevents spread / may cause net economic / social harm = mixed / situational


So yes to vaccines in general but the lives saved by mandates and lockdowns need to be weighed against the possible or potential social or economic harm they could cause.

Unless you subscribe to some Malthusian overpopulation nightmare saving lives is universally considered a good thing and vaccines do that, just how far you think it's acceptable for Government or authority to go in protecting it's citienry from harm is a slightly different and much more nuanced question which can't really be addressed by a simple binary good / bad type answer.
