Hit in the face. Split my lower lip half way to my chin.

I won that fight, well sort of. I don't think the guy I was fighting could stand to look at me so he quit.

I was a cop on duty. Marked police cruiser (black/white). Got t-boned by a new driver who accidentally put his foot on the gas instead of the brakes. The air bag broke my shoulder, broke my ankle, foot, several toes and ruptured 3 disks. My partner and I were both knocked out. A male came to my cruiser and splashed cold water on my face and stated don't worry officer I called 911. As I came to I noticed the young man that crashed into me was not responsive. I cut the seat belt off with my boot knife and pulled myself out of the window. I hopped to the young man on my left foot. He was OK just stunned by the air bag. I hopped back to the cruiser and opened the trunk. It was then that I realized I was running on adrenaline. In the distance I could hear sirens. I realized I was hurt in a bad way and the pain was kicking in. I took off my sam brown (leather belt), wool shirt (I had just bought a new uniform - over $200) shirt and vest and placed them my war bag. At this point the pain was so great I just laid on the street.

The Area Captain was the first one to respond because it was change of watch and the paycheck collectors (wanted to go home on time) thanks for nothing putos.

The Captain asked me why I took my uniform off except my pants. I told him "Sir I know I'm ****ed up. Just bought the wool uniform less than a week ago. The ER doctors just cut the clothing off. Please don't let the cut off my pants that.s $125 and the boots $165." The Captain said "The department will rein-bust you." I said you tell that to the old lady. He just laughed,

When the paramedics arrived (LAFD) the Captain stopped them and said don't cut the boots or pants. FD said The ankle might be shattered. I bought the boots less than a week ago, I cant take the pain. FD replied it's you ankle. They cut the boot laces off. They said we will count to three then we will pull it off. They said one. at two they pulled it off. Worst pain of my life but I lived.

It took me almost a year before I came back to full duty,

I've broken many bones in my life. Most of the breaks were sports related. Bicycling accidents resulted in broken ribs (several times), hand, arm, collar bones and shoulder. Running accidents resulted in ribs broken and breaking my nose (tripped over a root and fell flat on my face). The worse break though was my ankle and that happened when I slipped in my yard and sat down on my backwards bent foot. All of the breaks with the exception of the ankle I shrug off as "war" injuries. The ankle break though was due to being foolish.

I've broken bones and been hurt bad in various physical ways, but the worst injury?

            A broken heart.

Just kidding. I tore my rotator cuff last spring. No clue how. Dropped to the floor one day to do some pushups and felt numbing pain that said "Stop immediately." Kept waiting for it to heal, didn't. Due to the pandemic I couldn't do anything about it.

Almost a year later I'm finally in PT. It's been rough because the pandemic was already challenging for everyone; not being able to work out or do much physically definitely has made it harder.

PT guy says I'm a month or two out from being good to go, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel here.

Its funny about actual pain. One of the worse experiences I had was strange because it defied logic. One would assume that getting hit really hard in the testicles would be tough...makes sense. Through the years we guys, especially if we fought a bit have all been plowed in the pills... Its practically a rite of passage lol. And we are more durable than people assume... I mean ive been plowed in the testicles many times... didn't stop me from having two sons lol. But as usual I digress... I am the worse poster with these digressions apologies in advance.

I am about 12 and we are at the stickball, handball courts. In those days they had these small Black balls for paddle ball and handball. Any New Yorker around for the 70's and before would recognize these small, hard, black balls. They are pretty damn hard. Well we are playing stickball and i am out in the field and apparently one of these balls left the handball court rolling at a decent clip towards me... I do not see it. It catches me, lightly in the pills... MAN!!! I was down and in pain city. The way this thing hit, like a medium hard slap, f ucked me up worse than something plowing in to the testicles. I was a relatively tough kid and this shot had me floored.

a few years later I learned in the martial arts how to attack the groin... A well placed slap can do wonders! That ball taught me well! There is a Filipino stick fighter, and I like the guy because he is salty lol. Famously when someone asked who his teacher was, he pointed to the stick and some long term welts he had acquired. Damn if he wasn't 100 on that point of view.

knocked someone out for several minutes in a hockey fight. it was actually practice, we used to get into more fights in practice than games honestly. they had to strap him to a stretcher and take him out off of the ice and to a hospital. i was young, probably middle school. dude followed me around the ice for several minutes looking for trouble before he found it. i hit him once. the ice will hit you harder than the dude you're fighting in a lot of cases. he probably hit his head. i turned and walked away like i was jersey joe walcott. skating away, turned on him and hit him once, skated away again. they cleaned him up, i was done with him. we became friends after that. his parents saw him picking a fight for 15 minutes, nobody stepping in to stop him, and me finishing it. they always liked me LUL. even though i knocked their kid out cold put life changing head trauma on him. different times i guess, head injuries weren't well understood. this was 20 years ago easily.

the foot was the worst by far. I was rolling around in my backyard and screaming at the top of my lungs, ripping grass out and punching the ground. Very uncharacteristic of me. I’m one of those guys who doesn’t like to create a scene.

Nurse told me I broke my foot in two different places.

The chiropractor is the key. When you experiencing any type of back pain or neck pain, sciatica, frequent headaches or need treatment for a car accident injury such as whiplash, you should need to go to the chiropractor. The chiropractor can help.
