You're living in the 21st century. You have a supermarket around the corner with every possible type of food available at your fingertips for cheap. Go back even 100 years ago, and you're only eating meat on special occasions and forget about fountain soda, specialty chocolates, and your favorite cereal among countless of other things. You have a computer, smartphone, and or tablet/Ipad that allows you to access any and all information available of the whole history of mankind. It allows you to listen to all of our history's music, and if you pay for some decent speakers you can have a concert in your home. You can now self teach yourself math, science, history, and philosophy. You have a car that drastically slashes travel time and enhances your riding experience with A.C. Heat, and music vs a horse and buggy. You have air travel that allows you to visit any country you like within hours vs months to a year. You have modern medicine, so that you if you get pneumonia, cancer, and or diabetes its no longer a death sentence. You literally can call and or text any friend, family, or coworker instead of writing and sending letters. You're not required to enter the army at 18 and almost inevitably fight in a major war. You have an education, even if its just reading and writing, most people in the past didnt have that luxury. You have a shower and an indoor toilet, back in the day you'd be using an outhouse in the freezing cold, or washing your ass only a few times in several months. You have Air Conditioning in your home, and gas or electric heat in the summer, you no longer have to burn wood to keep yourself warm.
I think we as a society don't or rather can't even appreciate how far we have come, and what sort of paradise we live in when compared to our ancestors.
