Argentina and Brazil both massively under performed in the Copa America and in the World Cup all 3 countries lost to the first top-quality teams they faced. It just so happened that Uruguay didn't have to face a top-quality team until the semi-final stage.

Any international team would rather play Uruguay than Argentina/Brazil any day of the week.
You cannot compare Greece's fluke run in 2004 to Uruguay today. Greece did nothing after 2004. While Uruguay after 2010, followed it up by winning the second biggest Continental tournament in the world. Uruguay played better against the Dutch than the Brazilians did. Uruguay played against Germany than Argentina did. There is no question who is the best South American team in the world now, Argentina and Brazil live on their legacy not their performances,

Again, people fear Brazil and Argentina on what they have accomplished. There is a aura surrounding these two teams since they have produced the greatest players of all time. However, as a team they are not better than Uruguay. You are basing your argument on history, as a team they are not that good.

Example, most teams would say they rather play England than Japan. But Japan is the better International team

Verm and Rio id both take over him...

Only thing is Rio cant constantly play a few games a week

The base of my argument is that Brazil and Argentina are both better teams, both individually and collectively, than Uruguay.

Quoted the last sentence for the laughs.

            Individually, yes is agree.
            Collectively, no

How are these two nations better collectively when Uruguay done better than them in the last two major international tournaments? Makes no sense, whatsoever

Yea, I know. It was Argentina and Brazil that made the World Cup Semi Final in 2010 and won Copa America with a 3-0 win. :rolleyes

              Stop living in the past,

                Stop living in the past,

2010 is the past, so is 2011.

So how did they win the Copa? 2nd in group stage to Peru and beat Argentina in Penalties, hardly the true showing of who is the better team. Was Chelsea better than Bayern Munich last season?

Give over man, stop being so **** about FIFA rankings and such, Uruguay are a good team punching above their weight population wise, Argentina have the best player in the world and several others who would belong in top 10-15... Uruguay have Luis Suarez.

2010 was a fluke for Uruguay.

They barely beat a Mexico with Guille Franco as their striker and a bad coach 1-0. Bet they don't beat Mexico now.

And Ghana should've won that game.

Please, how are we to measure teams if we don't evaluate their last performances. You are basing Brazil/Argentina to be the better team based on team sheet, football doesn't work that way.

The last time Brazil has impressed was the 2005 confederation cup and last time Argentina impressed with 2006 world cup. While the weaker team now Uruguay has outperformed both teams in the World Cup and Copa. I don't see the sense in your argument

Again, your comparison are whack yet again. Chelsea was completely outplayed by Bayern and Barcelona, while Uruguay played well in all their Copa and World Cup match. Unlike the Final, Uruguay won 3-0 and Chelsea scored with one shot and won on penalties. There is no comparison here

So what Argentina's squad is stacked? They failed miserably at the World Cup and Copa which was hosted in their home country. They have Messi, so what? Suarez and Forlan are better international players and produced the goods at International stage,

How was 2010 a fluke? Ghana and Uruguay was a 50-50 match, Ghana got a penalty and missed.

Uruguay would put an ass whooping on Mexico. Uruguay won one of the BIGGEST international tournaments in the world, while Mexico won that bum of a Gold Cup
